It’s been a year since the birth of my son. Many women must be like me after a year, sick to death of their diaper bag. It doesn’t help that I’m visiting the States right now, and all the baby stores I’ve visited have gorgeous diaper bags unavailable to me in the UK. And, they are sold at cut-rate prices compared to the UK. And, there is an amazing selection literally at my fingertips.
By literally, I mean in my hands and walking to the front to pay. Like this diaper bag, that I almost walked out of a store today with.
I almost walked out with it, but then I thought: “Does this bag make me look like a hooker with a baby?”
And, then, that thought was immediately replaced with: “If I thought that, other people must think that.”
And, then my thought process spiraled out of control and I shoved the bag back on the shelf and swiftly removed myself from its presence.
The whole ride home from the store, I fantasized about that beautiful bag. Me walking down the road to my daughter’s nursery. Me slinging it over my shoulder exiting a cafe. Me sidling up to a gentleman’s car and leaning inside the open window for a chat.
Whoa! Stop it. Enough of these thoughts. It is just a bag. A gorgeous, red bag and I want it.
