Best 4th of July dessert for kids

Do you let your kids eat sugar on holidays? If you do, I’ve got the best 4th of July dessert for kids you’ll ever find. It’s the best dessert for you too because it’s also the easiest dessert you’ll ever make. Red and blue jello jigglers with whip cream on top totally qualify as a food group, at least on the 4th of July, right? You only need 3 ingredients and you’ll be out the door with the most popular dessert on the block.

Ingredients for the Best 4th of July Dessert for Kids:

box of red Jell-O
box of blue Jell-O
can of spray whipped cream

Follow the instructions on the back of the Jell-O box, {it involves dissolving the Jell-O with hot water, mixing cold water in, and letting it sit in the fridge while you’re otherwise occupied for several hours. I highly recommend napping while it sets.}

You’ll end up with one 9″ x 13″ pan of blue jello and one 9″ x 13″ pan of red jello. Slice through the jello with a butter knife in straight lines until you have individual jello cubes.

Scoop the cubes out of the pans & carefully place them into dessert glasses. I had to use a spatula to get mine out all the way, and I had some casualties. The good news is that you can eat the defective ones.

Fill half your dessert glasses with red jello cubes, and the other half with blue jello cubes. If you want to get super fancy you could even alternate red and blue. Now that’s fancy.

Spray a little swirl of canned whipped cream heaven on top for decoration. It can’t hurt if a little makes its way straight into your mouth. I’ll never tell.
