I hate to admit it, but we eat a lot of cheese quesadillas at our house. I’m not proud of it either. In “keepin’ it real”, I thought I’d give a few ideas to pump up the average cheese quesadilla if you too find your family eating them a lot. What is it about cheese quesadillas?! They are like the new mac and cheese, PB&J, and chicken nuggets. ![]()
Have you ever tried adding apples? You should give it a try! It’s really good! If they are thinly sliced it’s even better.
Do you have one of these mandolin slicers? I LOVE mine! We use it all the time. I love how thin and uniform it slices everything. Although be careful, it’s crazy sharp.
Another way to add a little more interest to the average (Jo) quesadilla is to fry the cheese a bit and make it crispy. Next time you put the cheese on to melt, let it melt a little and then flip it over on itself in the pan and let it crisp up. It adds a little texture. You should try it.
Also add refried beans for a little protein.
