Do you ever have those days where ice cream isn’t even enough? Yesterday was one of those days. The hubs was gone for work at 5am, the kids were up at 6 and we began our daily routine. Ems was extra cranky with her molars coming in and Carson was just in one of his moods.
Lotion was spilled…
Then there was the whining that just went on and on….
I was SO ready for nap time. I finally laid my kids down at noon and they slept for ONE hour. I was exhausted and it was only 1pm. Sigh…
At 5pm Emmalyn was still whining and Carson (who’s 3) ran up to me with a big smile and said “Mommy, I love you! You’re the best mommy!” At that moment a huge smile came onto my face and I remembered this post I had written a few months before. I knew I needed to choose JOY and cherish that small moment my son had given me.
I had been in a grumpy mood because my husband had been working 100 hour weeks and it was probably my attitude that was rubbing off on my kids. It was at 5pm I decided to choose joy. It is amazing the difference it made in our home.
I truly believe the attitude we have as mothers reflects our kids attitude. I need to remember this more.
I’m curious what you do on days like this? Please tell me I’m not the only one with these kind of days…
