When my daughter turned 5, we had her first big party at our house. We invited 20 of her little friends (boys and girls) to the party. Her birthday is in January, so this meant that all the kids would be eating cake and ice cream…inside. The clean freak in me went a little crazy thinking of the mess I’d be left with when the party was over, so to solve the problem, we ended up serving little mini rice krispie treat cakes. I love this idea!
I’m a big fan of rice krispie treats, and I LOVE the idea of them as a cake for a change. Not only did all the kids love them, I loved that there were no crumbs to clean up when the party was over. We also turned these little rice krispie cakes into an activity at the party. All the kids got to decorate their little “cake” with different kinds of candy.
I recently spotted this gorgeous Fruity Pebbles Cake via Glorious Treats, and I was reminded all over again of my love for the rice krispie cake. Isn’t her cake cute?!
I’d love to know, have you ever served a cake like this? Was it a hit?!
